Susanna Ahrens, DVM, an associate veterinarian with Minnesota Veterinary Hospital, in Shoreview, provides a range of services for pets, including general examinations, dental care, and diagnostic tests. In addition, she remains adept at performing surgeries and is especially experienced in various aspects of internal medicine. A dedicated veterinarian, Susanna Ahrens, DVM, stays current with developments in her field by maintaining membership in a number of professional organizations, among them the American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.

Susanna Ahrens, DVM, brings to her position as associate veterinarian years of experience, as well as a solid academic background. She recently spent nine years as medical director of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital, a role that required her to implement and assess guidelines as indicated by national governing bodies such as American Animal Hospital Association. In addition, she oversaw the work of staff members, conducted regular meetings with the other doctors, and collaborated with the office manager on decisions regarding inventory, maintenance, and operations. She holds a BS in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned several academic honors, and a DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She supplemented this coursework with training at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine, where she gained knowledge of acupuncture techniques for small animals.

When away from the practice, Susanna Ahrens, DVM, serves as Olivet Congregational Church’s senior deacon. She also teaches Sunday school there, and she belongs to King Boreas Toastmasters Club. Her other hobbies include volunteering and running.
